CCF Reunion

One of the reasons for our trip to Washington in March was the CCF Reunion.  CCF was the college ministry we were a part of at Western Washington University.  This ministry was pivotal to our overall growth as people and also gave us lifelong friendships.  It was refreshing and inspiring to be on campus again and see all of our old friends.

Here is a photo of my old room at the Mansion, a house that I lived in with ten other girls the year before John and I got married.  We got to show Emma and Johnny where I lived......

And also the ladder that daddy climbed up to ask me to marry him right out my bedroom window.....

We spent the weekend with friends that we hadn't seen for a long time.  It was great to catch up and also see how fast our families are all growing.....

A group of us stayed at the Belleme's house for the weekend.  They were, as always, so hospitable and patient with our growing group (It seems like each time we get together another child has been added).  We even left six of the kiddos all night with babysitters so that we could go to the Friday event and they did great.   I love that we were able to experience such wonderful things in college and then journey through life together...getting married...having kids....maybe someday going on a retirement trip without the kids??...ok I am getting ahead of myself....

Johnny was NOT HAPPY about being in the boy photo....

John and I were so thankful we were able to make it to Bellingham.  It was a great way to remind us of how much our college experience meant to us and confirm our desire to center our life around college students.  It was good for our soul....

Visit in March

In March, we headed up to Washington for a visit.  John had a conference in the midwest so I headed up early with the kids.  We began our visit at Papa and Meemaw's new house.  Our time included an easter egg hunt, swim time at the pool, a movie, and lots of good play time.

The kids had to hide while the eggs were being hidden.  They wouldn't want to see where any egg was prior to the hunt....
Johnny also insisted that he wear his backpack for the hunt...it was completely empty.  He loves his backpack.  He wore it at the airport full of toys.  As he would run by I would hear comments on how cute he was with his backpack on..

And then we headed over to Pappy and Yaya's house where we did another easter egg hunt with the eggs that the kids colored and spent lots of time playing and even got to go sledding.

Johnny just kept spitting.....he loved watching his spit hit the snow....such a boy!
Johnny and his Auntie Carin....he is smitten...

Snowball fight with daddy.......once we got the board to hide behind I think we won...

We had a great time in Wenatchee then headed over to Bellingham for the CCF reunion.

Ditners in San Francisco

In March, Emma and Johnny were reunited with Wiw and Bicky. Within hours of their arrival, Emma had Will playing tinker bell and princesses.

We went for bike rides around Stanford.....
Did some wishing in the fountains on campus.......

And even climbed trees....

We also took a day to drive up north and see the big redwoods......

And a trip to the Exploratorium in San Francisco.....

Johnny even got to drink out of a toilet. It was a social experiment to see if people were willing to drink out of toilets. No surprise to me, Johnny was the first to run right up and take a big drink.
We had such a fun time with Will and Vicki. We are very thankful for good friends like the Ditners and can't wait for our next reunion.
