Thanksgiving

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our house with our friends Greg, Angie, Jason, Alisa and a surprise visit from my brother Justin back from his travels around the world...we had a great time and I cooked my first turkey.  I called my mom at 10am my time (7am her time) to get some last minute advice and had to defrost the 20 lb turkey in our bathtub the day before but all was well and we feasted as all good Americans do..

Aren't I cute in my Thanksgiving Dress?

Emma sat in her high chair for the first time for Thanksgiving.  You can see her enjoying the new plastic taste in the left hand corner of the picture.
Emma and her Uncle Justi.  We were so excited to be able to spend the holiday with him.  This was the first time that he met Emma.  He even babysat for us a couple of evenings and did a slam bam job.  Emma loved her Uncle Justi.
Here is all of us in our living room after stuffing ourselves in the kitchen.

The life of a four month old....

I can't believe that Emma is already 4 months old. She is sleeping through the night, rolling over, sitting up (with us supporting her of course) and smiling constantly. She is beginning to be interested in toys so we can really start playing with her now which is fun. She has discovered that she has feet and plays with them whenever we take her socks off or change her diaper. She is really into her dad right now as he likes to zoom her around the house, hang her upside down, and dance with her every chance he gets. She lights up when he walks in the room with a look like "ok..what are you going to do to make me laugh today..". We both love being parents. Here are a couple of fun pictures of bath time....

Happy Halloween

Yes, Emma was a chicken for halloween.  The costume was too cute and we couldn't resist.  We took her to a halloween party and John and I were farmers and she was our cute little chicken...

A true Southern family....

Emma's thoughts....."I can't believe that they actually dressed me up as a chicken.  How embarrassing..."
Our chicken in her coop on our way to the Halloween party....

Emma partying with dad....she loves loud music......

Here are some more pictures of Emma.  My mom is the picture queen so I always get my best shots of her when she is around.  She is three months old in these pictures.

Aren't I cute??
Look at my cute boots.....
I am a very happy baby...

Look, I have pockets........
Did I do that?????

Look at my new coat...

Mom had to give me a bath in the sink.  Don't I look too big?  I was a trooper though, no complaining.....

In October, Emma and I took a trip to San Diego to attend my grandmother's (Mamus) memorial service.  Though the reason for the trip was unfortunate, we were able to see my family along with some friends while we were there.  Here are some pictures from our trip...

Southern California Beach

When we were in California, we were able to visit my Aunt Porky (long story but she asked us to call her that when we were little) and my cousins Lianne and Emily.  I hadn't seen Lianne since my sisters wedding and I had never met Emily so I was so excited that I was able to see them.  They loved "bebe Emma" as she was called by Emily.....
Emma in her beach gear.  We headed down to the beach for the afternoon.

Tummy time!  She is doing great on her tummy.  Really up and looking around.
Grandma and her girls at the beach...
Bathtime.  The girls wanted to give Emma a bath, which she loved.  As you can see, she was the center of attention for the whole visit.

Two month checkup

Emma weighed 13lb 8 oz and was 24 3/4 inches at her 2 month checkup. She is still in the 90th percentile on height and weight and is growing fast.
She is starting to use her legs to scoot around on her back but hasn't attempted a roll over yet. She is a very good baby, easy going and easy to please. We have been very blessed.

We have continued to have monthly pictures taken by Greg Phipps. If you would like to see these go to: http://phippsphoto.instaproofs.com and look for Emma - 1 mo old and Emma - 2 mo. old.
Here are a couple of my favorites:

Trip to VA Beach

A couple of weeks ago, we (Greg, Angie, John and I) took Emma to VA beach to visit our friends (Danny and Jessica) that had moved up there from Greensboro.  We had a great time and Emma got to "play" with her friend Rhyan for the first time.
