Pre-Easter Extravaganza

For those of you that now me, and my hatred for easter egg hunts, I will have you know that I took my daughter to not one, not two, not three, but FOUR easter egg hunts this year.  Now that is love.  Actually, I enjoy watching others hunt for the eggs but just am no good at it myself.  Here are some pictures from the week before Easter......

Emma wore these bunny ears all day long.  She is sucking on her first sucker ever.....loved it....

This is a new look for Emma.  It is her, "I've got attitude and you can't stop me" look.

A Day at the Zoo

The Pell family came to visit in March and Emma got to play with her cousins again.  She adores them and we all have so much fun when they visit.  On Sunday we all went to the zoo and we stayed afterward to celebrate Emma's friends Rhyan's 2nd birthday.

Emma doesn't like to hold our hands anymore but she was down with holding Jack's hand...

Here is an example of how difficult it is to get a good picture of all three....even when strapped down....

closer......
nevermind...I give up

Just a cute Pic

Doesn't she look old???  Our little girl is growing up.

SNOW in Greensboro!!!

Having grown up with snow, the small snow flurries that we have experienced since moving to NC have not been much to talk about.  But we woke up a couple weeks ago with inches of snow on the ground!!!  When we asked Emma if she was ready to go out in the snow she very enthusiastically said "yep" and then went to the door to go out in the following outfit:

Of course, being good parents we did not let her venture out in just her shoes so she ended up in this.....She liked the snow at first but once she got cold she just wanted to go home.  She has learned to say she is cold by shivering and saying "DIIIIIII"  which is Emma's version of "Brrrrr"
We walked down to the Phipps' house and picked up Kai in the wagon and took off for the park.   We came across this tree that had fallen with the weight of the ice.

No one had a sled so we used a boogie board.  It worked pretty well and we at least got to have some fun in the snow...

The snow melted in a couple of days and then exactly one week from this day it was....

80 degrees

We will never get used to the crazy NC weather.

Fists of Fury

She Speaks!!!

Emma has started to really use words to communicate and we are sooooo excited (and glad we don't have to worry about her not talking..the words of a worrying mom).  As of today, her vocabulary consists of:

All Done (Ahhhhh du)
Juice (jewwwwwwww)
Hot (Hota)
Doggie (Doddi)
Daddy (sounds pretty close to daddy)
Again (Ahhhhh g)
Uh Oh, Spaghettio (Oh Oh Spkaht;ajktl)
Baby (baabii)
Cat (at)
Diaper (clear as day..once)
Up (Uhhhh)
On (Owwwww)
Off (Owwwwws)
Don't (dunt......mostly directed at Talula our dog)

Ok, so I am sure there are more but we are so excited for these.  A couple of days ago she just woke up and decided she was going to try and copy the words we said.  Way to go Emma!!

Sidenote:  She still refuses to say mama or mommy or I would even take a ma.  When I ask her to say it she gives me the John scowl face, you know the one.  It will be a great day of celebration when I hear my first mommy coming from my daughters mouth...
