Favorite Pastime

Both kids are at that age where if we are in one room, they need to be in that room with us. This includes the kitchen. While I am cooking dinner, the kids generally either run in and out of the kitchen or Emma plays in her room while Johnny pulls stuff out of the cuboards. One day while I was cooking dinner, Johnny started pointing down the vent in the kitchen and squeeling. Hmmm....what has he been up to? The vents are pretty much huge holes in the floor with vent covers that come right out. I opened the vent up and found that Johnny had been shoving anything that fit between the grates down the hole. I pulled out several plastic forks that had been missing along with some other random items. A few weeks later Johnny discovered that he too could pull up the vent. In went shoes, toys and pretty much anything else that might fit. I have no idea what may have gone done the hole and around the corner never to be seen again...anyone missing anything???

Fall Outings

I have found that being home every day requires that I plan more outings...probably more for me than for the kids. Luckily we live in a city with lots of kid places to visit. Here are some photo's of us at the Natural Science Center in town. Emma has been there many times but this is the first time that Johnny was able to really enjoy it. Johnny loves animals and is very observant. He spotted animals before I did most times....

Outer Banks

Mid October our family headed off with Will and Vicki to the Outer Banks for a five day vacation. It was a great break in the middle of the semester and the kids had a blast. Will and Vicki are like family to us and our kiddos. We are so glad we got to spend this time with them.....

The Outer Banks is known for the lighthouses but the only one we visited was under construction. Still had to get the picture though....

We saw a raccoon jump into the trash can so of course John had to see if he could get it to come out so the kids to see......
Yay......Emma was as terrified as the raccoon when he came jumping out of the trash can.....
The weather was amazing....warm enough to spend our days at the beach but not hot and sticky.....

Her model photo.....

The kids loved playing in the sand. Even let us bury them. Emma loved it and may have stayed buried all day if we let her......
Johnny played peek-a-boo.....
Laughed.......
Then wanted out!!.......
Emma stayed for just a bit more........

Will and Vicki went Hang gliding while we were at the beach. We had a lot of fun watching them fly off the dunes. Emma had fun flying her Dora kite as well....

Go Will!!!!.........

Still Here...

October was a busy month for the Pell family....packed with a couple of vacations, applying for jobs and fall fun. On one of these vacations my camera broke and now my computer is needing some more memory before I can load my pics so I am still on hold for a real post with pics from October and November but they will be coming soon.

Life is good. The kids are good. And I still love being home. Hope to post more soon!
