John accepted a position as a professor at Stanford and we are moving to California!!
We are so proud of him and how hard he worked to get here and excited for what lies ahead for our family. We are, of course, also very sad to be leaving our good friends, beautiful neighborhood and home, and southern cooking but we have been here for six years, John has gotten his degree, and it is time....
We won't be moving until sometime during the middle of the summer but are now in the scramble to get our house on the market. We are praying it sells quickly so that we can focus on moving and finding a place to live in the San Francisco area. I hear the trolly bells, beach and wine country calling....wanna come visit?

Welcome to California. We live in Los Altos and are in process of adopting a 3 year old boy from Ethiopia. We also have a 7 year olf daughter from Ethiopia (and 6 other kids:) Let me know if I can answer any questions about the area.

So many high fives & hugs from the Scellicks. First thing Ben told me this morning was, "John Pell got a job!" Me: "Where?" Ben: "Stanford." Me: "Wow! Seriously! That's great!"
Ben: "We always knew John was brilliant. I guess he'll have to settle for Stanford over Western (snicker)."
I'm excited for this new chapter in life for all of you and praying your house sells in perfect timing. And visit?--yes!

I want to come visit! I'll even babysit your adorable kids in exchange for a free place to stay so I can explore San Fran some more! So excited you guys will be out here in California soon!
Wow! Congrats!! Although we are sad to see you leave (and were selfishly hoping you'd stay close) we're excited for you guys as you begin a new chapter. We'd love to see you before you leave if you have any time!
