The last four weeks has been quite an adventure. As most of you know, after the first week at home, I (Sarah) had to go back into the hospital for six days to fight off an infection. It was a very trying time as this will be the third time this year that I have spent nights in the hospital but all is well now. Our parents were able to be here to help to which we are so thankful. We had a wonderful visit with Grandma and Grandpa Stagge and Grandma and Grandpa Pell and now are spending our first week as a family of three.
Emma has already seemed to change a lot. She is awake a lot more than she was at first and is beginning to get a mind of her own.....
After many weeks of John's hard work at scraping the ceilings and painting and my mom's hard work at sewing the crib bedding and quilt, the room is ready!!
This weekend, some friends threw Emma and I a baby shower / tea at a posh hotel, complete with scones and cucumber sandwiches. It was a wonderful Saturday afternoon.
I have a great pregancy book that I am filling out and one of the pages is to guess the date and weight of little Emma's birth. If any of you are interested in making it into the baby book, just add a comment to this blog and list the date you think she will be born (She is due July 19th) and the weight...(please don't guess too much, I don't want to push out a 10 lb baby :)
This weekend, my friends Emily and Whitley threw me a baby shower.
We played guess the celebrity baby name, ate great food (including pink cupcakes and pink punch, and I got to open lots of thoughtful gifts for Emma. I feel very blessed to have met such great friends here in North Carolina.
I still can't believe that we are going to have a baby! And in 6 weeks!!
