Today John and I celebrate eight years of marriage (which means we have been together for 13 years!). Here is a photo of us at our senior prom........
While I would never suggest that someone marry their high school sweetheart (Emma you are not allowed to date until you are 21) it does come with some great perks......like hundreds of love letters and memories of senior prom that enhance your marriage instead of need to be forgotten :). John has always been an amazing writer and wrote me poetry, songs and long letters both while we lived near eachother and while we were long distance. I loved reading these as I reflect on our last thirteen years together. I love reading about who we were and thinking about who we have become, how we have grown closer, more alike over the years. How we haven't given up on many of our dreams but how some have changed into better ones. How we have gone from best friends, to boyfriend girlfriend, to an engaged couple, to a married couple, and now are a married couple with two beautiful children. We still love spending time together and continue to learn new things about ourselves and eachother each year. In giving me John, God gave me my greatest blessing ....someone that loves me no matter what.....someone that challenges me to be a better person.....someone that loves our children as much as I do.......someone I can look to for guidance.....someone that supports me in my successes and failures....a soul mate that I can grow old with. Life just gets better and better. I can't wait to see what this year brings us.........

Beautifully written, Sarah. You and John are a great couple and I'm so glad you're both our friends. You've taught us a lot about marriage over the years. CHEERS!
